Lycoris
The genus Lycoris includes a number of species that are native from Iran to Japan. The flowers and foliage appear separately, so the blooms come as a surprise during the late summer and early fall. For this reason they are often called Naked Ladies. They are often naturalized in the southeastern U.S., where they are called hurricane lilies. They do well in perennial gardens, bulb gardens and as naturalized plants.
