Details

Narcissus 'King Alfred', a trumpet daffodil, is named for the only English king to ever be called, "the Great." Alfred was king of Wessex until 899. This daffodil was raised in 1899, one thousand years after Alfred's reign, by J. Kendall. Height is 14 inches. Blooms mid season.

This offering is for a box of 50 12-14 cm bulbs. Plant outdoors at a depth that is 2-1/2 times the height of the bulb* and 6 inches apart, or 4 per square foot, in fall. They prefer full sun or partial shade, and well-drained, organic soil in USDA climate zones 3 - 9.

Narcissus are good for container gardens, cutting, perennial and bulb gardens, and are deer resistant. We begin shipping in mid September. *Planting depth is measured to the base of the bulb.
